After rushing to the net and winning a point during his Shanghai Masters second-round match against Nikoloz Basilashvili, the full-speed Zverev pumped his fist and let out a shout.

It was too much to handle for a ball boy sat by the umpire’s chair, who flinched and moved away from the onrushing fourth seed with a face that was the picture of fear.

Zverev had no harmful intentions and did not even seem to notice the youngster’s reaction before turning to cheer with his box.

Fortunately, though, the moment was captured on camera for the enjoyment of everyone - except the ball boy, probably.
