In restrictor-plate racing, a simple slip can cause a wreck as cars are separated in the draft literally by inches. That’s what happened in Turn 3 at Talladega as Martin Truex Jr. was trying to create space and hit the rear of Kevin Harvick, who turn teammate Kurt Busch igniting a huge wreck that collected out playoff drivers Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Matt Kenseth and others.Â
The wreck brought out the red flag as officials cleared the 2.66 mile track with Daniel Suarez in the lead.Â
Dale Earnhardt Jr., was able to come away from the wreck without any damage as he looks for his seventh Talladega in his final race at the Alabama track.Â
