Los Galacticos took the lead for good with a dubious (Deadspin called it “fake as hell”) goal (watch it here) six minutes into OT. Referee Ramon Hernandez allowed a free kick as unsuspecting La Maquina defenders were milling around the box, and Dave Romney converted a semi-breakaway. This was all happening as injured Galaxy player Jose Villarreal was rolling around on the turf.

Oh, and LA had been playing with 10 men since the 17th minute, when Rafael Garcia was sent off for a dirty tackle. Then again, La Maquina was playing without its coach, who was ejected in the first half.
