Just one year on, the five-time world champions have been transformed, racing to eight consecutive victories that saw Brazil become the first team to qualify for Russia 2018. The Selecao have gone from national disappointments to World Cup favourites.

Despite all his success, however, Tite insists his team is still evolving, and completely dismissed any suggestions his side wishes the World Cup would arrive tomorrow.

There is plenty of work left to do before next year’s World Cup, he says, and that starts this week with the Chevrolet Brasil Global Tour double-header versus Argentina and Australia in Melbourne.

Brasil Global Tour sat down with the 56-year-old at CBF headquarters in Rio to hear the secrets of his success and hear why the likes of Philippe Coutinho, David Luiz and Thiago Silva all have big months ahead of them.
