MORE: Must-see playoff photos | Mysterious black cat runs across SAP Center ice
Pawvelski, named after Sharks captain Joe Pavelski, was spotted running across the ice in Game 1 of the Western Conference second-round series with the Predators. So far she hasn’t been much of a good-luck charm — the Sharks haven’t been able to close out the Predators — but San Jose is embracing her anyway.
The fetching feline has been made into a life-size mascot, a stuffed animal and even has her own Twitter account. Her cat condo at the Humane Society is decked out in Sharks gear.
Pawvelski is currently awaiting adoption, but in the meantime she’ll continue to root on the Sharks. She’ll look to dispel the bad rap black cats have received over the years by propelling the Sharks to victory in Game 7 on Thursday.
