Independent wrestling is still the wild west of the grappling scene, with plenty of promotions across the country continuously pushing the envelope between extreme and stupidity. The latest example: indy wrestler and veteran stuntman JJ Allin getting his nether-regions lit on fire, with his opponent stoking the flames with a weed whacker. Yes, that is an actual sentence that was written in 2021. The spot, which took place under the Pro Wrestling Trainwreck banner during the 2021 Southern Sickness Cup, was caught on video and was eerily (and frighteningly) reminiscent of the ’90s ECW days....

The neighborhood squirrel, who has been affectionately named Maxine by the video creator Derrick Downey Jr., was caught red-handed chewing up Derrick’s outdoor couch. In the video, which can be seen here, Derrick is heard telling Maxine off after catching her in the act. “Oh my God Maxine,” Derrick says, adding, “Do you see you tearing up that furniture? You just destroyed that couch. That is not cool,” he continued....

Snake catcher Stuart McKenzie, who founded snake rescue business Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7, was called to the school to catch the four foot eastern brown snake, which was loose in the school building. In a Facebook post, McKenzie said that he headed over “straight away” to catch the venomous snake. Footage of the encounter shows McKenzie on his way to the school, with him saying the rescue was “pretty urgent....

Man Utd can have Griezmann Botafogo midfielder Bruno Silva and striker Roger combined to produce a truly fantastic goal, with both the assist and the final strike coming from bicycle kicks, during their side’s 2-1 Copa Libertadores home win over Estudiantes. After a cross from the right flank, the ball fell to Silva who attempted to strike towards goal with an acrobatic finish. Despite failing to connect cleanly, his wayward shot turned into the perfect assist for team-mate Roger who also attempted a bicycle kick, this time sending the ball into the back of the net....

The second-year NFL quarterback’s pass did not seem possible, but receiver Demarcus Robinson was able to snag it. At the time of the no-look pass, Mahomes had thrown for 219 yards, one touchdown and one interception with three minutes left in the third quarter. In the video, James Rayl can be seen pounding on the door when he is told by his ex-girlfriend’s father, Mitch Duckro, to leave. Rayl continued to knock on the door before he eventually tried barging into the house. At this point, shots were fired, and screams could be heard. James Rayl attempted to flee the scene, but he collapsed in Duckro’s driveway after being struck by a bullet. According to WOWKTV, first responders pronounced him dead at the scene....

In a recent video posted on his Twitter account, former two-division champion and UFC color commentator Daniel Cormier deciphered the meaning of a short interaction between the two fighters. The video is a part of an ESPN+ show called ‘Detail’, where Cormier analyses finer details of UFC fights. The video begins with a short clip of the UFC 257 rematch between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor. Poirier punches McGregor’s gut gently in a gesture of camaraderie and as an acknowledgement of a well-fought round before going back to their respective corners....

However, that wasn’t the most interesting thing that happened in Monday’s contest. Early in the third period, Winnipeg’s Bryan Little scored a solo goal after being left alone up front to put the Jets up 6-2. Immediately after, though, a brawl ensued on the ice. It’s understandable that the Wild were frustrated, as they had just come off a three-goal loss to the Blues on Saturday. The 7-2 loss on Monday brought the Wild to 11-10-3 on the season....

Individual hydrophones, or underwater microphones, had previously been used to track the large mammals as they traveled across the world’s seas, but the cost and their geographic limitations made them expensive and difficult to use. Now, a new technique, Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS), is able to hack into existing underwater fiber optic networks. DAS turns any unused fibers in the cable into a long arrangement of virtual hydrophones. “Deploying hydrophones is extremely expensive, but fiber optic cables are all around the world, and are accessible,” said project researcher Lea Bouffaut, co-author of the article “Eavesdropping at the Speed of Light: Distributed Acoustic Sensing of Baleen Whales in the Arctic,” published in Frontiers in Marine Science....
